Cycling in Boston

Boston
Bike Map, viewable online
Over 200 Boston cyclists provided input for a cycling map of Boston's streets in 2008. Green routes are considered safe for family and children, primarily off-street. Blue roads are intermediate with some on-road cycling. Red is for experienced cyclists, often on congested roadways. Dotted black lines indicate bike paths. Other black solid or broken lines are for safer routes, some of which are signed.
Hub
on Wheels is Boston's annual
city-wide charity bike ride. Proceeds help
Boston Public School Students get the technology
and skills they need to succeed. Founded
in 2005, the event showcases Boston's neighborhoods
and parks, modeled after similar events
in New York and Chicago. Each fall, thousands
of participants join this celebration of
Boston by cycling through Downtown, the
Back Bay, Jamaica Plain, Roslindale, Hyde
Park, Mattapan, Dorchester, and South Boston.
