RI Bike Paths for Commuting & Recreation
East Bay Bike Path: 14.5 miles between India Point Park in Providence and Independence Park in Bristol.
Washington Secondary Bike Path: 14.2 miles between Garfield St. in Cranston and the area of Town Farm Road in Coventry.
Blackstone River Bikeway: 11.6 miles between Valley Falls Heritage Park off Broad Street in Cumberland and River’s Edge Park off Davison Avenue in Woonsocket.
Ten Mile River Greenway: 2 miles between Ferris Ave. in east Providence and Armistice Blvd. in Pawtucket.
South County Bike Path: 7.8 miles between the Kingston RR Station in West Kingston (South Kingstown) and Mumford Road in Narragansett.
Woonasquatucket River Bikeway: 5.1 miles between Providence Place Mall and Lyman Ave. in Johnston.
Quonset Bike Path: 2.5 miles from Post Road (Rte. 1) and Calf Pasture Point nature area in the Quonest Business Park in North Kingstown. The path offers access to a large conservation area and pristine beach on Narragansett Bay. Click here for map.
Wilson Park Bikeway http://www.northkingstown.org A 1.5 mile loop circling the seventy-five-acre Wilson Park in Colonial Wickford. The path offers picnic spots, hidden coves, waterviews, and nearby shopping for antiques and boutiques. Suitable for bikers, walkers and rollerbladers. Full handicap accessiblility.
Coventry Greenway. A converted railway, this five-mile, completely paved greenway is popular with many hikers and bicyclists as a great way to enjoy the great outdoors. Three miles of the trail have been designated as the first Rhode Island segment of the East Coast Greenway, which will span from Maine to Florida. Scheduled completion in fall of 2011. Eastern segment under construction by JH Lynch from 8/09 thru 6/2011. West Warwick line to Station Street closed during consturction. Phase II (West) Station to Coventry Center will be under construction (July through December 2011) and will be closed during construction.
William C. O'Neill Bike Path A 5.6 mile paved course beginning at the historic Kingston Train Station, skirting the Great Swamp and the scenic Ministerial Road areas and leading to Peace Dale and Wakefield ending at Route 108. Suitable for bikers, walkers and in-line skaters. Beautiful photography opportunities. Crosses historic Main Street in Wakefield.
