New York State’s 112-mile Southern Adirondack Trail links the Erie Canal to the Adirondacks and passes by the Herkimer diamond mines, West Canada Creek and several Adirondack Lakes. The New York State Canalway Trail System is accessible along much of the Southern Adirondack Trail, with 260 miles of existing multi-use, recreational trails as well as the 500-mile Erie Canal trail.
