North Shore Cyclists’ Blazing Saddles Century is one of the earliest rides of the fall century season. Travel through the rural towns of Boston’s North Shore and southern New Hampshire. Ride along beautiful rivers, lakes, salt marshes, and bridges past New England churches, town halls, and farms. The terrain includes rolling hills, long sunny flats, and rural roads. The nearby ocean provides cool breezes, trees provide plenty of shade in places, and the sun lends warmth on those open flat stretches.
Fifty percent of the combined Blazing Saddles Century net income will be donated to bike-related non-profit organizations, including the Coastal Trails Coalition, the East Coast Greenway, MassBike, and the Topsfield Rail Trail.
Routes for 2024 are shown below. The 100-mile route has three well-stocked and amazingly staffed rest stops at approximately 25, 50, and 75 miles. The 62-mile route includes two of those rest stops, and the 30 and 50-mile routes include one of those rest stops. SAG support is provided. Limit 350 riders.
Start: Triton Regional High School, 112 Elm Street, Byfield, MA. Map to start
