Description: Ride Description: This 100 K ride passes through several upscale residential areas in Madison en route to and from rural sections of Killingworth, Durham & Higganum with brief forays into Guilford and Clinton along the way. It uses mostly back roads or residential roads with limited automobile traffic and features a scenic 1.5 mile ride along the Madison shoreline with spectacular views of Long Island Sound. Toward the end, the ride skirts Madison’s business district but passes by Madison Green and the beautiful Congregational Church that overlooks the green. There is a serious 0.7 mi. (double pitch) climb on Haddam Quarter Rd between mile cues 27.9 and 28.8 and there is a lengthy, 2.5 mi. climb (not especially steep) on Beaver Meadow Rd starting at mile 38.7.
