Nantucket bike rides

In the historic Nantucket town center we walked our bikes on the brick sidewalks to avoid the cobblestone roads.

Deb and I celebrated her late April birthday with a trip to Nantucket, taking advantage of great early season rates at the Hotel at 21 Broad St. The ferry from Hyannis to Nantucket took about an hour, and surprisingly, we were the only people with bikes. We were fortunate to have 30 miles of paved paths to ourselves, and sunny weather with temperatures in the 60’s. In the historic town center many of the streets are cobblestone and the sidewalks are brick. We followed designated in-town cycling routes to bike paths that run alongside roads to the island’s shores.
